A sportive summer
HORSE RIDING: There are opportunities to go horse riding for a few hours or do a one-day hike, You can even hire a donkey.
" LES GRANDS BAINS ", In Monêtier, is a relaxing establishment where you will bathe in the outside naturally heated water at (37 °c) whilst looking out over the snow-capped mountains.
WATER SPORTS : there are many water sport clubs that offer lessons for all the levels in rafting, kayaking, hydro speed, canyonning to explore and have a lots of fun on our beautiful rivers.
MOUNTAIN AND ROAD CYCLING : as with hiking you will find circuits to be enjoyed by everyone. For cyclists you are in the heart of the biggest and most mythical mountain passes of the ‘Tour de France’ (Galibier, Izoard, Granon...) and the champions can go to the’ Alpe d'Huez’ for the photo on arrival. There are special days reserved for cycling a few times in the summer when car traffic is limited in order to cross the most beautiful passes. Also in the summer the Ski lifts are opened for the access to Bikes Parks.
HIKING : the possibilities are immense and varied. Walks were marked out around the villages at the top of Thabor by way of the numerous lakes of the valley, there is for all the tastes and all the ages. The fauna of our mountains is well protected and you will get a chance to meet our local inhabitants: chamois, roe deer and marmots.
Les Hautes Alpes is the North of Provence, with its sun and its scents of wild lavender that grows in the Clarée Valley, but it is also a gorgeous mountainous area where there are many wonders to discover during your stay at Les Airelles.

FISHING: we have numerous 1st category rivers and torrents rich in Farios and mountain salmons. There are around 30 alpine lakes opened from the middle of June to the middle of September to be explored. Also fishing instructors are at your disposal to discover techniques and sites.
A cultural summer
THE RELIGIOUS HERITAGE : we have many classified churches and chapels to visit all year round and you can explore the passionate mountain dweller through the magnificent works of religious art.
Before your leave La Clarée we recommend you read the best seller book by Emilie Carles " A Wild Herb Soup ", which will make you more eager to discover more fully the valley.
THE LAKE OF SERRE-PONCON and its surroundings also deserve at least one day of visiting, Go discover the landscapes and the beaches, the dam and the museum of the lake, or the wildlife park of Sauze, the "demoiselles coiffées", the sources of warm water of the Plan of Phasy, the abbey of Boscodon or possibly even do a tour of the lake by boat!
OTHER ACTIVITIES : you will find a large number of activities varied in a 10 km around Les Airelles and among others park accrobranche, paint ball, Climbing and Via ferrata, a karting track to Villeneuve, bungee jumping, etc....

THE HISTORICAL HERITAGE : It is possible for you to relive the epic of Vauban who, sent by Louis XIV in 1692, started projects and works on the numerous forts and the fortifications which overlook Briançon (a city given status as a UNESCO world heritage site).
PARAGLIDING : The renowned Aerologie of our region is open all year long and offers two-seater gliding and training courses so you can enjoy the fantastic panoramas of our valley from above.
ALPIN GARDEN OF THE LAUTARET is a botanical garden that collects more than 2000 species of flowers from the Alps and the mountains of the world. It is situated in front of the Meije glaciers at 2100m of altitude and is well worth a visit. Open from the middle of June to the middle of September.
Numerous local events take place all year long in the Briançonnais area. As well as cinemas, concerts, theatres, exhibitions, there are other ways to relax for all the ages to discover during your stay at Les Airelles. SUN DIALS decorate the facades of many houses and churches in the valley; they mix the time, the messages and the pictorial art. You can discover these at your own pace with a notebook game or a personal guided narrated-tour!!!
THE NATURAL PARKS of the Ecrins and Queyras warrant a whole days visit in order to fully discover the villages and prestigious summits in this protected environment.
GEOLOGY : "the alpine ocean" (massif of Chenaillet), is one special place where you can try to find fossils of molluscs at more than 2000m above sea-level. You can also visit the silver mines of l'Argentière to discover the exploitation of a vein of silver, 80 m under the bed of a torrent in the 19th century.
